A distinguished example of Mid-century Danish design, this extending dining table by VV Møbler carries with it both quiet elegance and a traceable history, having been originally acquired from Heal’s in 1965.
Crafted in richly grained teak, the table reflects the enduring virtues of Scandinavian workmanship—clarity of line, balance of proportion, and a deep respect for natural materials. Its circular form invites intimacy in its closed state, while the cleverly engineered double-extension mechanism allows it to unfold with ease into a generous oval, extending from 120 cm to 220 cm. In this expanded form, it comfortably accommodates up to ten diners, making it equally suited to quiet family meals and larger gatherings.
The design remains honest and purposeful, with a seamless integration of function and beauty. The extension leaves sit harmoniously within the structure, preserving the table’s graceful silhouette whether open or closed.

Condition Report:
This table has been carefully preserved within a private home where it was well looked after over the years. It presents in very good original condition, with only a minor surface scratch visible in two of the photographs. Given its remarkable state, professional restorers have advised that it remain untouched, allowing its authentic patina—gently acquired through decades—to be appreciated rather than altered.
The teak wood is warm, rich, and beautifully grained, full of character. Structurally, the table is sound and practical; it can be easily dismantled for transportation and reassembled with simplicity, secured by two screws on each leg.
