Ercol collaborates with in-house and UK-based designers to create exceptional pieces of furniture. In 1932, Ercol took over Walter Skulls Limited, a highly respected furniture maker known for producing high-quality chairs. Today, Ercol’s chairmaking department is still referred to as Skulls, and the company continues to build on Walter Skulls’s legacy by producing chairs of exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

Ercol’s Windsor collection, which was first launched in 1946, is considered a design classic and was showcased in London’s Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the “Britain Can Make it Exhibition.” Ercol’s furniture designs remain popular today because of their simplicity, functionality, and timeless aesthetic. Ercol’s most famous designs include the iconic 1956 Loveseat, Studio Couch, and Butterfly Seat.
Ercol furniture is not just a purchase, it’s an investment. Built to last a lifetime, each piece is a testament to the company’s commitment to exceptional quality. Ercol uses only the finest materials and traditional techniques, ensuring that every piece is not only beautiful and stylish but also functional and durable.

What we love from Ercol

Since we discovered the furniture pieces designed by Lucian Ercolani for Ercol, we have been absolutely delighted with them. He managed to refine and modernise the classic Windsor style in a way that no one else has done before. By removing unnecessary elements, he created a new and beautiful lightness for the Windsor chair. The Quaker as Windsor collection has gained a fresh new look thanks to Lucian’s innovative approach.

Ercol furniture’s pale elmwood and organic shapes are captivating. We’ve protected and enhanced the wood’s natural beauty with an ultra-matt invisible shield for furniture by Renner. Enjoy the organic shapes of the elm grain with this finish.
