A beautiful creation of British mid-century design, this teak sideboard was conceived in the 1970s by renowned designer Tom Robertson for the revered Scottish maker A.H. McIntosh. Embodying the quiet refinement and functional grace of the era, it is a piece of enduring elegance.
Handcrafted in rich teak, the sideboard has been fully restored with great care and respect for its original soul. The wood has been gently sanded and treated with hardwax oils, bringing forth its natural warmth and satin sheen.
The design is both thoughtful and noble. Two outward-opening cabinet doors reveal spacious compartments with internal shelves, offering ample storage for tableware or cherished possessions. To the left, a suite of drawers provides further utility, including a top felt-lined cutlery drawer — a detail that speaks to the care and purpose with which this piece was conceived.
At once stately and restrained, this sideboard is a testament to the artistry of Tom Robertson and the legacy of A.H. McIntosh — a timeless addition to any considered interior.
