Following our market research and verification, this is currently the only complete set of eight Kristian Solmer Vedel Modus chairs available on the market worldwide. The chairs are beautifully crafted from solid rosewood, showcasing the rich colour, distinctive grain and sculptural quality for which this material is renowned. The chairs feature an elegant sculptural design, with gently curved ladder-back frames and beautifully shaped solid teak arms and legs. Their organic lines and refined proportions are characteristic of Danish mid-century design, while the black upholstered seats provide a simple contrast to the timber’s warmth.
Each chair bears a “Made in Denmark” stamp to the underside of the seat pad.

A beautifully crafted modular shelving unit designed by Robert Heritage for Avalon and handcrafted in the UK.
The composition combines a long teak sideboard with two sliding-door cupboards at each end and a central bank of three drawers, together with a long open teak shelf. Above, the bookcase features a generous open central section, flanked by a smaller cupboard on each side, each enclosed by a sliding door.
Two elegant black metal structures support the teak modules, creating a light, architectural look while providing a strong, practical framework.
The unit has arrived in exceptionally good original condition. Our restorers only needed to carefully clean all components, including the teak modules and shelf, then apply wax to revive and protect the teak’s natural colour and character.
A versatile and beautifully proportioned example of British mid-century design, offering generous storage and display space while making a strong architectural statement.

Designed by Tom Robertson for A.H. McIntosh in Scotland in the 1970s, this exquisite sideboard belongs to the prestigious Eden collection from Edinburgh. With its generous proportions, elegant elongated handles and beautifully considered design, it is a wonderful example of Scottish mid-century furniture.
The sideboard offers excellent storage, with a two-door cupboard on the right, fitted with two shelves, and a bank of three smoothly gliding drawers on the left.
One of the most distinctive features of this particular piece is the beautifully light-toned teakwood. The teak used for this sideboard is noticeably lighter than the other Eden sideboards we currently have in stock. This is one of the pleasures of furniture made from natural timber: each piece has its own character, colour and grain, and no two pieces of teak are exactly alike. The lighter tone gives this sideboard a particularly fresh and elegant appearance while allowing the natural grain of the timber to remain the main feature.
The sideboard has been expertly and sympathetically restored, bringing the teak back to life while retaining the character and authenticity of the original piece. There are two faint marks on the top surface which have been subtly disguised rather than completely removed. These are minor signs of its history and have been treated with care rather than attempting to make the piece look artificially new.
A beautiful and highly practical example of 1970s Scottish mid-century design, this Eden sideboard combines generous storage with the warmth and individuality that only genuine natural teak can provide.

The table features one cleverly concealed extension leaf stored inside the tabletop. To extend the table, the two sides of the top simply pull apart, revealing the folded extension stored within. The extension then opens like the wings of a butterfly, creating a larger dining surface while retaining the elegant proportions of the original round design.
The teak has a rich, beautifully figured grain, with natural variation and movement across the tabletop that gives the piece a strong and stand-out Mid-Century character.

Philip is one of the unsung heroes of British furniture design who deserves to be far better known! As a young man of 24, he was appointed to replace Arthur Edwards as head designer of White and Newton in 1964. They were then a successful medium-sized maker of contemporary furniture, which was a little conservative in style. In the late 1960s, he pushed some boundaries, particularly in some of his sideboard designs, which moved White and Newton into a much more modern, stylish, minimalist direction. Some of these designs were very popular and came up for sale quite frequently, while others were too ahead of their time and are unfortunately rarely seen today. When they do appear, they’re now recognised as design classics.

This set belongs to the iconic Rogate collection.The table is handcrafted with a beautiful teak with a vibrant teak grain for the top. The chairs are with its original upholstery and it is in very good condition, only some year and wear due to the age.
All the set comes sanded and with an oily finished.
