Designed by Philip Hussey for the prestigious Rogate Collection and crafted by White & Newton of Portsmouth, England during the 1960s, this exceptional teak sideboard is a rare and highly sought-after example of British mid-century design.

The sideboard features a beautifully balanced, symmetrical composition, with a central bank of three drawers enclosed within a gently curved frame, flanked by two spacious cupboards with hinged doors. The design is elegant and understated, entirely free from visible handles. Instead, the drawers are fitted with sculptural solid teak wave-shaped fronts that discreetly conceal the finger pulls, creating clean, uninterrupted lines that are characteristic of the period.

Crafted in beautifully figured light teak, the sideboard showcases the exceptional quality of White & Newton’s cabinet making. The refined proportions and subtle detailing make it a timeless piece, equally suited to both contemporary and traditional interiors.

This sideboard has been professionally restored to the highest standard. It has been carefully sanded and refinished with Fiddes Hard Wax Oil and Danish oil, enhancing the natural beauty of the timber while providing a durable finish for everyday use. The entire structure has been inspected and strengthened where required, all drawers run smoothly, and every original feature has been preserved, ensuring the piece retains its authenticity and character.
