Van Treight was a renowned furniture design and manufacturing firm founded in 1934 by Dutch immigrant Frederick Van Treight in Homebush, New South Wales. The company quickly gained recognition for producing high-quality, stylish furniture, drawing inspiration from both Scandinavian design principles and modernist aesthetics.

The lounge chair has all the straps new, made from rubber following the standards Ercol used in the ‘60s.
The elm wood has been sanded and repolished with an extra transparent varnish from the Italian brand Renner to leave the natural colour of the elm wood.We have in stock two lounge chairs and five of the model 427 no armrest.

The chairs are handcrafted in solid oak and feature a fine extra armrest made of teakwood with a beautiful, vibrant grain.The chairs are completely restored and have new upholstery made of white woolly fabric.

These leather lounge chairs, once a part of the 60s collection at the renowned Maskrey’s furniture store in Cardiff, are now available for comfort. With solid wood frames and caramel leather upholstery, these chairs are in good vintage condition, showing only normal wear and tear due to age. While the designer and the crafting company remain a mystery, I can assure you that these chairs are not just a piece of history but also the most comfortable lounge chairs you’ll ever experience.
Robert Maskrey was an influential furniture retailer and philanthropist. He ran the Welsh retailer Maskreys from 1970 to 2011 and had a 50-year career in the furniture industry.
He played a key role in introducing many of mainland Europe’s top furniture design brands to the UK for the first time. Known for his love of design and as one of the trade’s best buyers, he frequented furniture shows worldwide. In the 1950s, Maskreys became a specialist in sourcing and stocking innovative, contemporary home furnishings. It was recognized for showcasing the latest designs and styles and pioneering trends.
The company was the first to bring blond wood from Scandinavia to the UK in the 1950s, and it also introduced Ligne Roset and Hulsta to the UK in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Aunque no podemos afirmar que sea una pieza original, dado que carece de firma, este sillón sigue las particulares líneas del diseño de Sergio Ramírez.
El sillón está manufacturado en roble y piel negra.
La peculiaridad de este diseño se centra en cómo deja el asiento al aire, como se muestra en las fotos; hiendo que esta pieza sea super cómoda, tanto para largas charlas como para una buena tarde lluviosa leyendo un libro.
La madera ha sido restaurada tanto estructuralmente como a nivel de acabado. La tela del asiento está en buenas condiciones pero tiene unas marcas como se muestra en una foto, no afectan a su uso.

Estos sillones, fabricados en teca, conservan su tapicería original porque está en muy bien estado y solo tiene algún pequeño roce que no afecta a su uso.
De igual modo, ofrecemos la posibilidad de volver a tapizarlos para que luzcan como el primer día.
El trabajo de tapizado lo realizaría un experto tapicero y tendría un coste de 350€, no dude en contactarnos si desea que le cambiemos la tapicería a estas piezas Mid-Century.
